Oak Bay is flanked by the University of Victoria, with Saanich to the North, the Haro Strait to the East and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the South. The main village is located on Oak Bay Avenue, with alternative retail situated on Estevan Avenue, Cadboro Bay Road and Foul Bay Road. 

Oak Bay Parks:

Kitty Islet sits along adjacent to McNeill Bay. Far from your average park, this refined waterfront park brings you in touch with marine life and boats soaring by. Enjoy tranquil views of the Olympic Mountains on the Adirondack chairs found on the rugged bluffs. Ideal for bird watching, star gazing, angling and simply staring at the marine wildlife which flourishes with seals, sea lions, whales and more.  The terrain is left raw and natural with its access sometimes obstructed by the tides.

Henderson Park is a multi-faceted developed park with tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, jogging trails, a playground and the Hendersen Recreation Centre which provides a variety of recreational opportunities with a spacious gym and fitness centre.

Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and community culture is unparalleled with free beach concerts in the summer and a truly unique art scene. Resident Artisans of Oak Bay open their homes and studios a few times throughout the year to invite the neighbours for a free tour to appreciate their artworks and acknowledge their skills. Approximately 25 local artists participate, displaying paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photography and more. 

Cattle Point is a region of Uplands Park and runs along the coastline of Oak Bay. This point gives gorgeous vantage points of the Haro Strait. There is plenty of parking, picnic tables and benches, a boat ramp as well as a paved walkway down to Willows Beach. Cattle Point is well known for its starry skies. This beach is fairly rocky and more suitable for beach strolls rather than swimming. It's considered one of the best off-leash dog beaches.  The locals from often paddle board or windsurf in McNeill Bay.

Oak Bay Beaches:

Willows Beach is one of the most popular hot spots for swimming and beaching in all of Greater Victoria. Here you can engage in long walks along the sandy shore and wade in the protected waters all year round. Amazing for kids and families. It offers a playground with a large grassy park, bathrooms, picnic tables and outdoor concerts in the evenings. 'Willows Beach Tea Room' is a  popular concession stand for fries, hot dogs, sandwiches, beverages, ice cream and of course, poutine. It is operated by the Kiwanis Club of Oak Bay. Volunteers and paid students work together at this quaint little cafe right on the beach. 

Gonzales beach is a favourite hangout for locals with its calm waters, soft sand and great atmosphere. It has everything you want in a beach. In a sheltered bay it is protected from the wind and home to lots of wildlife. It's is perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or sunbathing. It feels like a tropical paradise. When the tide is high, the beach almost disappears under the ocean so make sure to check the tide schedule. You can also get a phenomenal view of the beach from Gonzalez Hill.

Oak Bay Marinas:

The Oak Bay Marina is a full service marina located in a sheltered bay with amazing views of Mount Baker. Here you can find a gift shop, fuel dock, a spot for ship repairs and ample free parking which makes the marina a popular destination for cruisers or full time moorage.

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is the oldest in western Canada. It is situated on the protected waters of Cadboro Bay. The facilities offer opportunities for racing, cruising and sailing as well as watersport rentals.

The 'Oak Bay Beach Hotel' is an elegant luxury boutique resort nestled on the shores of the Pacific which was built in an English Manor House style and was reconstructed on the same oceanfront lot where the historical hotel sat for more than 90 years. This oceanfront hotel features an on site spa with outdoor mineral baths. Its an awesome place to spend a night yourself, have dinner at their 'Snug Pub' or dining room, spend a day at their pool or recommend to others visiting the island. The Hotel offers some seasonal docking facilities.

Oak Bay Golf Courses:

The Victoria Golf Club is a private and historic golf club with an  18-hole course and is one of the most scenic, ocean-side golf courses in the world. The temperate microclimate keeps members golfing throughout the year.

Uplands Golf Club which is well known for its well groomed fairways and impeccable greens which are also playable on a year round basis. With gentle fairway and lack of steep hills or valleys to navigate, this  18 hole game is often played in 4 hours or less. 

The Oak Bay Recreation & Henderson Recreation centre also offer public golf courses.
