More about Cadboro Bay Homes for Sale

Cadboro Bay is a quaint seaside village. The bay is located near the southern tip of Vancouver Island in the municipalities of Saanich and Oak Bay in greater Victoria. Cadboro Bay is situated between the bay itself and the University of Victoria bounded by the Uplands district to the south, Ten Mile Point to the east and the Queenswood neighbourhood to the north.
Cadboro Bay is a mixed rural and residential area with newer and older homes. Although you can still find condo’s here, the area is predominately single family homes with a price range starting around one million.
The picturesque streets are lined with Arbutus and Gary Oak trees. The bay’s sheltered waters draw kayakers and sailors, while a pretty little village hub behind the beach has a handful of small boutiques, salons, groceries, global eateries and pubs.
The eastern side of Saanich is dominated by the University of Victoria, which is very much a part of the local life of the community with its lovely Finnerty gardens, forested trails and sailing club. Having the university within the community keeps the real estate market moving with plenty of investors to accommodate the student housing needs.

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is located on the Oak Bay side of the bay and is situated on a large archeological site of the Songhees Nation. Your views are of the Juan De Fuca Strait and the Olympic Peninsula.
Adjacent to Cadboro Bay’s sandy beach is Gyro Park which is popular for children with its concrete climbing structures in the form of an octopus, a large salmon, a tugboat and a sea monster.
Many of Caddy Bay’s residents have lived and been a part of the community for decades. This stewardship means friendly neighbours and plenty of familiar faces.   Cadboro Bay offers an amazing blend of indoor and outdoor living and community that you have to experience to understand.

At the foot of Sinclair Road is the Cadboro Bay Beach Public Park with a concrete octopus, whale, tugboat and a replica of the sea monster, Cadborosaurus. The body of water named Cadboro Bay is the home of the Cadborosaurus, nicknamed Caddy, a mythical sea monster that has supposedly been spotted in the calm waters of the bay. Cadboro Bay gets its name from the first Hudson's Bay Company sailing vessel brought to the BC Coast, the Cadboro, which was the first vessel to anchor in the bay.
