Located just off the coast of western Canada, Victoria BC boasts some of the most beautiful landscape and scenery that the country has to offer. The first thing one may notice is that the weather is the closest thing to paradise in Canada. Victoria has some of the most moderate temperatures on the planet. Cherry blossoms flood the city streets in Spring. Summer days are comfortably warm and dry with a constant offshore breeze to keep the days from becoming too hot. Autumn and Winters never get too cold and the temperature doesn’t fall below 0 very often. You can play sports like golf and tennis all year long... outside! In fact, I would feel very confident in saying that we have some of the most scenic and funnest to play golf courses in the entire country!

When one seeks to move to Victoria BC, they can expect to be greeted with a wealth of job opportunities as well as a climate ripe for entrepreneurs. From the hospitality and tourism industries to government jobs and a burgeoning high-tech sector, there is a little something for everyone when it comes to employment in the "jewel of Canada". On top of the private-sector jobs and the more traditional government-support jobs, there is also a frequent wave of new families moving to the area due to both the Canadian Military and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

If one is to move here with children, there are great choices for education. There are a host of progressive-thinking public schools and quite a few private schools that children may attend. There are also multiple world class colleges and universities in the area for anyone seeking higher education. Due to the higher-than-average level of education and employment, the crime rate is astonishingly low in Victoria and thus, people in Victoria like to enjoy the finger things in life.

Since hospitality plays such a big part in the local economy of Victoria, there are plenty of Victoria restaurants to choose from. The decision to move to Victoria is like a dream come true for foodies everywhere. Fresh seafood and artisan baked goods along with a plethora of microbreweries await the hungry palate. There is never a shortage of delectable foods to choose from when in Victoria, British Columbia. Signature restaurants like Nautical Nellies by the Inner Harbor, Tapa Bar in Trounce Alley, or Brasserie L'école by Chinatown put us on the national culinary map!

A large portion of people that move to the island happen to be retirees, but there are also a larger number of the younger generation moving here than ever before. Perhaps this is because the entire environment is quiet and peaceful, yet forward thinking and evolving, and paired with the aforementioned weather, it is easy to see why. Residents of Greater Victoria also enjoy the fact that they can take advantage of the wonderful access to the health care system that is in place on the island. While all of Canada enjoys universal healthcare coverage, in certain rural areas the access to facilities simply is not there. However, when in Victoria, there is a blend of rural peacefulness with modern amenities that simply cannot be beat.

For the young and the young at heart, there are plenty of establishments where one can go dancing or carousing or even to catch live music and other performances. From pop to opera, there is a wide variety to choose from when looking for what to do in Victoria. If the "nightlife" really isn't your scene, there are also plenty of opportunities for camping, hiking beautiful trails, or fishing in the many regions of unspoiled nature that Victoria offers.
